about

I recorded this live (not multi-tracked) in my family room tonight using the direct inputs to an Edirol FA-66. The guitar is a Peavey Limited HB. The mic is a Sennheiser e935 (which sounds so much better on my voice than my Shure SM58, it's not even funny). Everything was going into MainStage, and I recorded the mixed tracks and then did a very cursory job at mastering the track in Logic to gain it up a bit. This is mostly an experiment to see where I'm at with this track live, and also test out the potential of this setup a bit more, even just with some default plug-in settings (Male Slap Back Lead Vocals on the mic and Crunch Rockabilly Slap on the guitar). I'm using the 2nd-to-bridge pickup position on the Limited with the volume rolled down a bit.

Original song by Jonathan Coulton.
